The "Kosoku" brand was established by metal artist Takenori Obuchi (art name: Kosoku) with the desire to inherit thousands of years of tradition and culture, and to spread the charm of traditional crafts in the silverware industry. Born in Toyama Prefecture, known for metal crafts, in 1932, he studied under the renowned silverware master Tokutaro Hayakawa and learned silverware craftsmanship in Italy and other countries. He established his unique style pursuing extremely delicate expressions, and his works, created with diverse techniques and rich artistry, have caused sensations with each presentation, earning him the "Prime Minister's Award" in 1979. He has also won numerous prestigious awards, including the "Tokyo Governor's Award" four times. The Kosoku workshop has many disciples from experienced to young artisans, and while constantly pursuing new worlds, they have been providing guidance to inherit their craftsmanship and spirit. Currently, the "Kosoku spirit" is being passed down, with disciples winning the "Newcomer Award" at the Traditional Craft Japan Metal Art Exhibition and the highest "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" at the All Japan Gold and Silver Creation Exhibition. The Kosoku workshop is dedicated to advanced traditional techniques, quality, and innovation, carefully creating each piece with sincerity for their customers.
